Hourly is First to Launch In-Browser Video Interviewing for Employers

NEW YORK, March 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, Hourly (http://www.hour.ly) announced that it has partnered with TinyChat (http://www.tinychat.com) to be the first online job site to offer video interviewing capabilities for employers. In an effort to fill their open positions with greater ease and efficiency, employers who are members of Hourly, can invite potential job candidates to meet with them online, and conduct virtual interviews with the click of a button.

For freelance workers and small businesses, time is literally money. "While face to face interviews continue to be a vital hiring tool, the time required to conduct these meetings (or travel to them), cuts into everyone's productivity", says Lynn Dixon, Co-founder. "Video interviews on the other hand can be conducted at any time, and with TinyChat, all that is required is a camera and standard Flash software."

"The goal of Hourly is to streamline the entire process of finding and hiring hourly help", says Brooke Dixon, Co-founder and CEO of Hourly. "With the shift in the economy, more and more people are looking for temporary employment, yet the existing job sites have not adapted to the quick "sales" cycle and price sensitivity of this market. On Hourly, job seekers and employers can build dynamic work profiles that can then be matched, based on location, job function, rate of pay, and experience.

Further enhancing their service, Hourly is also announcing its partnership with Trufina Inc. (http://www.trufina.com) to provide opt-in ID verification and criminal background checks. Members will have the ability to further strengthen their work profile by running a background check on themselves, that can be viewed by potential employers, giving them added peace of mind when hiring. Jim Kinchley, CEO of Trufina remarked, "We are thrilled to be partnering with Hourly, and see their service as the next step in online employment, and a great tool in getting Americans back to work."
