Aegis Mobility Offers Wireless Operators Flexibility and Control

ORLANDO, Fla., March 21, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Aegis Mobility, the industry leader in providing network-integrated solutions for responsible mobile phone usage while driving, will be demonstrating DriveAssist at International CTIA Wireless® 2011 in Orlando, March 22 to 24.  The DriveAssist product line offers wireless operators a unique and highly configurable solution to the problem of distracted driving.

DriveAssist provides automatic mediation of text, data and voice based on subscriber policies and preferences. Using existing, standard network interfaces and protocols, DriveAssist integrates easily and virtually transparently into a wireless operator's network, leveraging its core capital assets to meet operator and customer-specific requirements.

"The network-integrated approach of DriveAssist offers technical advantages and feature capabilities that off- network providers just can't match," said Bill Stack, president of Aegis Mobility U.S.  "The combination of this added functionality and ease of deployment will make DriveAssist the preferred choice for operators."  Aegis Mobility's carrier-grade, scalable, and network-efficient distracted driving solution is ready for interoperability testing with wireless operators today.

DriveAssist has a unique, client-server architecture that is scalable and highly configurable.  Built on a context- based services platform, DriveAssist extends the capabilities of existing location-based infrastructure, adding contextual intelligence, which provides a level of privacy and anonymity for subscribers while affording operators a unique ability to scale to other driving and non-driving related applications.

Aegis Mobility works with key strategic vendors for SMS/MMS and data policy management.  With twelve patents pending, Aegis has developed innovations that reduce network overhead and provide for network and signaling efficiencies. The DriveAssist approach has successfully passed integration and drive testing with a Tier-1 U.S. wireless operator.

Aegis maintains a strategic alliance with the National Safety Council to introduce DriveAssist to 20,000 NSC

member organizations, representing more than eight million employees.

A 2011 SPIFFY Award winner, Aegis received the Graham Bell Award for Best Communication Solution.  This prestigious award was voted on by more than 25 carrier members of the Telecom Council.
