ATLANTA, March 30, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Kudzu.com, the website that helps homeowners plan projects, solve problems and choose highly rated contractors, is celebrating the start of spring by giving away free chocolate and a chance to win $5,000 for a curb appeal makeover.

The Kudzu.com sweepstakes named the Sweet Spring Spruce-Up is being hosted at http://www.facebook.com/KudzuFans and runs through April 30. The sweepstakes is open to homeowners throughout the United States and will award one grand prize of $5,000 cash. Every sweepstakes entrant will also receive an individually wrapped .5 ounce piece of chocolate that will be delivered by mail. The sweepstakes is the second in as many months for the home advice site.

"We had an overwhelming response to our first sweepstakes, so we're doing it again," said Rhonda Hills, Kudzu.com vice president and chief marketing officer. "We know our fans want to improve their homes, and our sweepstakes is going to allow one lucky winner to dramatically enhance their home's exterior. You don't have to win the $5,000 to get the spring off to a sweet start, though, because we're going to send every entrant a delicious piece of chocolate just for participating."

To enter the sweepstakes, homeowners should visit http://www.facebook.com/KudzuFans and "like" the page. Visitors who "like" the Kudzu.com Facebook page will then be directed to an online entry form. Entrants into the Sweet Spring Spruce-Up sweepstakes can increase their chances of winning by referring their friends. Participants will receive an additional entry into the final drawing for each referral that enters. The drawing to determine the grand prize winners will be held following the conclusion of the sweepstakes and will be announced via the Kudzu.com Facebook page.

"With the Sweet Spring Spruce-Up, your sweepstakes entry doesn't end when you enter," said Hills. "The more people you refer, the better chance you have of winning, and I anticipate a lot of fans taking an active role in recruiting referrals in order to try to swing the odds in their favor."

The importance of curb appeal can't be overstated. According to Bankrate, good curb appeal can add as much as 10 percent to a home's value. Enhanced curb appeal is also reported to reduce the number of days a home is on the market and influence the final sell price.
