DegreeSearch.org Launches Its Weekly Scholarship Sweepstakes

The online education search company announces its Success by Degrees Sweepstakes - giving $500 weekly prizes to those who are interested in continuing education

DRAPER, Utah, April 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Paying for college is hard enough without the rising costs of tuition, the current state of the economy and the price of textbooks added in. To help struggling students or anyone who is interested in continuing their education or going back to school, DegreeSearch.org, an online degree search company, this week announced the launch of its scholarship sweepstakes.

Open to anyone who 'likes' the DegreeSearch.org Facebook page, the Success by Degrees Sweepstakes is meant to provide a stimulus for individuals who need a little more incentive to return to school. For current students, the $500 scholarship could help pay for that semester's books or rent, among other things.

"We wanted to open the scholarship up to anyone, not just current students," said Mike Metcalf, social media director at DegreeSearch.org. "Many of the people using our site are looking to return to school--we're hoping the scholarship can give them a little extra encouragement."

After 'liking' the Facebook page, applicants must select the Scholarships tab and enter their name and email address to be eligible. Up to three extra entries are awarded for sharing the promotion through either Facebook or Twitter, and one scholarship winner is randomly chosen each week.

"Our company is all about improving the educational process and helping students find the right program for their needs," said Metcalf. "This is one way we can help ease the financial burden of continuing education."
