TechNet Opposes Measure to Impose New Taxes on America's Small Businesses

WASHINGTON, July 29, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- TechNet, the bipartisan network of CEOs that promotes the growth of the innovation economy, today announced its opposition to "The Main Street Fairness Act" measures offered in the House and Senate.  TechNet continues to oppose new tax regimes that increase Internet sales tax complexity for U.S. consumers and businesses.

"The Main Street Fairness Act bills will make it more complicated, expensive and onerous to conduct business on the Internet," said Rey Ramsey, President and CEO of TechNet. "During these difficult economic times, the last thing we need are additional burdens on this growing economic sector."
