Learn Anything with New App for iPhone, iPod, iPad

GULLANE, Scotland, Sept. 1, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Whether it's the periodic table, the list of U.S. presidents in chronological order, a different language, or an important speech, learning large or complex chunks of information is difficult. But Yellow River Arts Ltd.'s Learn Anything (http://www.learnanything.co.uk), a new app for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad, changes that -- and lives up to its name in the process.

Yellow River Arts Ltd. founder Neil Gerstenberg's extensive education taught him that the most effective way to learn is through "learning loops," the process of learning small amounts of a larger subject. Accordingly, Learn Anything's spiral approach to learning allows users to create, learn, and share audiovisual learning loops for any subject. Along with those advanced looping techniques, Learn Anything pairs tried-and-true learning methods -- repetition, revision and recall -- with multimedia and memory association to help users learn faster and easier than ever before.

"Learn Anything enables users to gradually loop longer and longer sections of information to quickly learn even long texts they may have previously thought impossible to memorize," Gerstenberg stated. "The Learn Anything sharing feature allows users to learn other people's loops in addition to the loops they have created for themselves, opening doors to learning things they may never have otherwise considered and eliminating the need to create new learning loops for subjects that have already been shared."

In contrast to learning apps that push pre-loaded learning content, Learn Anything is completely user-driven. All learning loops are created by the users, who choose the audiovisual components that help them mentally link vivid, meaningful images to concepts or words. Once they have created their loops, users can choose to share them with other Learn Anything users worldwide in the Loop Library, available to anyone who has downloaded the paid or free version of the Learn Anything app.

Creating a Learn Anything loop is simple. Users start by copying whatever text they want to learn. On opening the Learn Anything app, the user selects "New Loop," pasting the text (or typing their own), and saving the new loop. The user titles and tags the loop, then records the audio that will accompany the text. When all audio has been recorded or edited, the user can add images to each section and start studying or sharing the loop.

"Although Learn Anything is easy to use, it provides an extremely powerful and effective way to learn anything, literally," said Gerstenberg. "As the app's popularity grows, we look forward to seeing the Loop Library become a fun learning resource for people of all ages and interests."

Learn Anything is available on the Apple App Store (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/learn-anything/id454172620?mt=8). To learn more about the app, and to see exactly how it works, visit the Learn Anything site at http://www.learnanything.co.uk/.
