Casio's Drives Projection Innovation With Fifth Generation LampFree® Technology

DOVER, N.J., April 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Casio America, Inc., a pioneer in the digital projection space, is pleased to announce it is the industry leader in the LampFree(®) projection category for the fourth consecutive year. According to data from PMA Research - a high-tech research firm that specializes in the projector market - Casio is the undisputed industry leader when it comes to LampFree(®) projection and currently has the number one market share for the lamp-free category with a 78 percent market share in the United States.

"We are dedicated to developing ground-breaking LampFree(®) projectors that lead the way in technology and our updated LASER & LED Hybrid Light Source does just that," said Matt Mustachio, general manager of Casio's Business Projector Division. "Since the inception of Casio's LampFree(®) projectors, business and schools across the United States have been integrating Casio's technology. We pride ourselves in offering a comprehensive solution for professionals and educators alike and are extremely proud of the progress we have made in the industry. We will continue to be the pioneers of LampFree(®) technology."

In 2010, Casio America, Inc.'s R&D team set out to develop a new means of projection that eliminated mercury bulbs based on environmental issues and also reduced the size of the projector while improving performance.  Shortly after, Casio introduced the world's first LASER & LED, LampFree(® )portfolio of projectors and has been expanding its offerings ever since.

Now in its 5th generation, Casio's LASER & LED HYBRID Light Source combines a laser, a fluorescent element and LEDs to generate high brightness. The improved LASER & LED HYBRID Light Source now offers a 30 percent increase in LED light output for improved colors for all models in Casio's portfolio in addition to an estimated 20,000 hour lifespan with minimal brightness degradation and continuous operation.

Casio's commitment to the projection industry is displayed through its full line of LampFree(®) projectors across various market segments including portable, multi-purpose, and high brightness units that are equipped with a number of features fit for a multitude of environments.  Casio's LASER & LED Hybrid Light Source will continue to serve as the driving force behind its projectors.

This year at InfoComm (June 18-20, 2014), Casio will showcase its latest projector lineup designed with its 5(th) generation light source and a variety of new features. For additional information on Casio's full portfolio of LampFree(®) projectors, visit http://www.casioLampFree.com.
