Brandworkz Releases Software Version 6.1 With New Features and UI Improvements

LONDON, April 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

    Brandworkz, the marketing and brand management software
[http://www.brandworkz.com/features ] company, has released software version 6.1 which
includes a new Order Widget, 'Hot Folder' feature, Social Collaboration and further UI
improvements as well as bug fixes.

    The new features in the 6.1 release help marketing and brand assets to be shared
faster and more accurately internally and externally. The UI improvements continue the
work Brandworkz is doing to make the software as simple and intuitive as possible.

    Social Collaboration, launched separately on 2nd April, is part of the 6.1 release and
is now available to all clients.

    Hot Folder feature

    The Hot Folder allows users to assign a folder on the operating system of the
Brandworkz server so that any file added to that folder into will be imported
automatically into the Brandworkz platform, including any IPTC or XMP metadata embedded in
the file or in an associated sidecar file.

    For example, a user can add keywords to assets in a 3rd party application such as
Adobe Bridge, then FTP the assets to the hot folder on the Brandworkz server, and these
assets will become available in Brandworkz.

    Users may also have assets that originate in a 3rd party application which needs to be
available in Brandworkz. This application can be configured to transfer the files to the
Hot Folder on the Brandworkz server and they will automatically become available for
end-users in the platform.

    Order Widget

    The Order Widget allows users to order stock items such as merchandising pieces. This
would typically be part of a Brandworkz Workflow where the final screen allows the user to
choose which product to order as well as the quantity and delivery location.

    UI improvements

       
        - Simplified steps for moving assets and folders to a different location
        - Each job or project in the Workflow system can be assigned a sequential job
          number
        - Every page within an InDesign file can be thumbnailed
        - Simplified download of assets when using Internet Explorer or Safari browsers

    Bug Fixes

    A large number of bugs have been fixed in the system.
