Allot Demonstrates Industry's First Virtual Traffic Detection Function at SDN & NFV USA 2014

Allot's NFV-ready solution powers an application-aware virtualized Evolved Packet Core network for data monetization

HOD HASHARON, Israel, October 6, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --

    Allot Communications Ltd.
[http://www.allot.com/virtual_TDF.html?campidp1D00000012NI3 ] (NASDAQ, TASE: ALLT), a
leading global supplier of service optimization and revenue generation solutions for fixed
and mobile broadband operators and cloud providers, announced today the demonstration of a
virtual Traffic Detection Function (vTDF) as part of a virtualized Evolved Packet Core
(vEPC) network to enable application-centric plans and advanced services. This live proof
of concept (PoC) will be demonstrated October 6-8 at SDN & NFV USA 2014 in Dallas, TX
[http://usa.sdnconference.com ].

Allot's vTDF provides all of the capabilities provided today by the physical TDF
including traffic detection, analytics, policy enforcement and charging. In addition, the
vTDF offers cost savings, reduced time to market for new and complex services and
deployment flexibility advantages. The vTDF can be deployed anywhere in the network, from
the RAN to the core network, to facilitate application-centric use cases and services.

The European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI) NFV ISG (Industry
Specification Group) works on Virtual Network Functions Architecture standard. Allot is
one of the key leaders of this work. This document defines TDF as a virtualized network
function (VNF). The vTDF solution is comprised of Allot's virtual Element Management
System (vEMS), the Allot VNF Manager and Allot's Virtual Network Function Components
(VNFCs), the key one being Allot's virtual Service Gateway (vSG). The vTDF VNFCs, which
are managed by Allot's VNF Manager, scale based on service needs and network conditions
and support high availability.

"Service providers are looking at NFV technologies to reduce cost, achieve greater
scale and flexibility and evolve network services to meet customer demands," said Jay
Klein, CTO at Allot Communications. "With Allot's vTDF solution, service providers can
build a virtualized, responsive and standard-based policy control and charging framework
for rolling out new and enhanced services faster and more cost-effectively."

Allot will be showcasing the vTDF solution at the SDN & NFV Dallas, USA
[http://usa.sdnconference.com ] booth #8 and the SDN & OpenFlow World Congress, Germany
[http://www.layer123.com/sdn ] booth #61.
