Bausparkasse Mainz AG Uses MobileIron To Manage Field Service Apps

MUNICH, Dec. 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --  As a medium-sized financial services provider, mortgage lender Bausparkasse Mainz AG requires the highest standards of security and compliance for its mobile IT programs. The company selected MobileIron (NASDAQ: MOBL), the leading enterprise mobility management (EMM) provider, to protect its corporate-owned iPads and iPhones, provide secure mobile access to its sales portal and securely distribute internally-developed apps to financial advisors.

Bausparkasse Mainz's decision to switch to MobileIron marked a new chapter for its mobility initiatives. Prior to 2014, the lender suffered significant performance limitations in managing mobile devices. The company's 800 independent sales representatives needed a new solution, which according to Mr. Dirk Runkel, BKM's System Planning and Operations Manager, required the following features:

--  Setup and maintenance of app whitelisting
--  Management of multiple devices with different policies for one user
--  Automatic distribution of client certificates for secure access to the
        sales portal
--  Document-level policies for data security and privacy
"MobileIron did well in meeting all of these requirements," said Marco Follmer, Managing Director of EBF GmbH, which implemented the EMM system. "The MobileIron platform is designed so that you can quickly and easily implement features that go beyond the standard repertoire."

Mobile Access to Data, Documents and Support
Financial advisors at Bausparkasse Mainz use corporate-owned iPads outfitted with the company's sales portal, which provides access to critical business documents, customer information and product advice. The sales portal is supplemented by various custom-developed business apps, including an app to help advisors prepare for sales meetings. The company has several apps in development, including a product advisory app with an online calculator to generate price quotes and an app for easier contact management.

Mr. Runkel describes the advantages of using MobileIron: "We eliminated expenses related to delivering information to our sales force. This new, mobile model of information delivery is faster and more targeted. It helps us better serve customers which, ultimately, makes us more competitive."
