TrackingPoint(TM) Announces Precision-Guided Firearm With One-Mile Range At CES 2015

Fighter-Jet "Tag and Shoot" Technology Makes Precise Shots Possible Even On Targets Moving 30 mph; Real-Time Video can be Streamed to Wearable Digital Shooting Glasses

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 6, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- from ShowStoppers @ CES 2015 -- TrackingPoint(TM), creator of the world's first and only Precision-Guided Firearm systems, today announced the debut of its 338 TrackingPoint (338TP) Precision-Guided Firearm at ShowStoppers 2015 in Las Vegas. Code-named the "Mile Maker," the 338TP is a new precision caliber developed by TrackingPoint and is equipped with TrackingPoint's famous fighter-jet "tag and shoot" technology. The 338TP allows even novice shooters to make mile-long shots with greater precision than the most skilled marksmen in the world--even on targets moving 30 mph.

Like other TrackingPoint products, the Linux-based 338TP utilizes advanced image processing and tracking technology to acquire and follow targets. Once a target is acquired, it is virtually impossible for it to escape. TrackingPoint is the first firearms company to introduce state-of-the-art fire control technology. Fire control systems, historically reserved for advanced weapon systems like the F35 jet and the M1 tank, eliminate human error when firing a weapon.

"At TrackingPoint our goal is to continually stretch the possibilities of firearm technology," said Vann Hasty, TrackingPoint Vice President of Engineering. "The 338TP takes another giant step giving our soldiers a precise and powerful tool for defending our freedom. This breakthrough also gives shooting enthusiasts the ability to make precise shots at extreme distances."

Marketed to the U.S. military and as a high-end platform for shooting enthusiasts, the 338TP has the ability to wirelessly stream real-time shot video to wearable digital shooting glasses. The digital shooting glasses are comprised of TrackingPoint's ShotView(TM) software running on the Recon InstrumentsJet smartglass platform.

The digital shooting glasses enable users to shoot around corners and other protected positions, team with other shooters, and have greater situational awareness. It also allows users to record video and voice for later review or to share with others.

Advance orders for TrackingPoint's 338TP will be accepted beginning January 2015, with first shipments anticipated in June 2015. The 338TP will be on display at ShowStoppers @ CES, Tuesday, January 6 in the Lafite Ballroom of the Wynn Hotel, Las Vegas.
