Zero Data Cost for Browsing Facebook: UC Browser for Internet.org Launched in India

NEW DELHI, February 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --

UCWeb, the developer behind the No.1 mobile browser in India with 41% market share as
of December 2014 according to StatCounter, announced today that it has taken part in the
Facebook-led Internet.org initiative by launching the UC Browser for Internet.org, a
special version of its flagship UC Browser that gives Reliance subscribers in India free
access to a group of mobile websites including Facebook and others at no data charges.
This is the first time Internet.org has launched in India, in an aim to make the Internet
more accessible and more affordable to local users.

As part of the effort, Reliance subscribers in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhra
Pradesh, Gujarat and Kerala will now have access to more than 30 websites and services
ranging from maternal health, education, news, sports, jobs, communication, to local
information. A full list of the websites can be found here:

"We are honored to be part of the Internet.org program and to be able to bring
critical information to our users without data charges. Giving people free access to those
information could substantially increase the rate of Internet adoption as well as enable
people to stay informed about and connected with the world," says Kenny Ye, Managing
Director of UCWeb India.

Internet.org is a Facebook-led initiative with the goal of making affordable internet
access available to two thirds of the world who are not yet connected and to bring the
same opportunities to everyone that the connected third of the world has today. The goal
of Internet.org echoes with UC Browser's commitment to help billions of users around the
world to enjoy mobile Internet services.

UC Browser for Internet.org is just as good as the fully featured UC Browser for
Android. That means, in addition to accessing Internet.org and other website with
zero-data costs, it has all the features of UC Browser for Android, including clean yet
complete UI, intuitive tab management, Facebook real-time notification, smart downloading,
support of background downloading with auto re-connection, incognito browsing, night mode,
video gesture control, custom themes, etc.
