The Sixth Flag, CRN Emerging Vendor 2015, Launches desktop.tsf(TM) for Google Chrome Devices

RALEIGH, N.C., July 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The Sixth Flag, Inc., a groundbreaking new Desktop-as-a Service firm launched earlier this year, announced today it has been named to The Channel Company's exclusive 2015 CRN® Emerging Vendors List. The annual list features up-and-coming technology vendors that have introduced innovative new products, creating opportunities for channel partners in North America to create high-value, cutting-edge solutions for their customers. The vendors recognized this year have demonstrated a commitment to developing new technologies to meet growing market demands.

Along with this recognition, The Sixth Flag today released desktop.tsf(TM) for Google Chrome devices, a special configuration of the company's desktop.tsf(TM) that allows organizations to use the Google Chrome device platform, including Chromebox and Chromebook devices, as dedicated thin clients. By replacing local PCs with Chrome devices, administrators can implement cost-effective, zero premise-based configuration desktop computing.

"We are honored to be one of 2015's Emerging Vendors and are committed to delivering cutting-edge technology solutions that will continue to benefit channel partners in servicing  their customers," said Pete Kofod, Founder & CEO of The Sixth Flag.  "With the release of desktop.tsf(TM) for Chrome devices, organizations can deploy competitively priced thin clients for their desktop.tsf(TM) environment. desktop.tsf(TM) is a perfect platform for organizations that may not have IT staff on premises but want to simplify and streamline desktop deployment and support for remote users," added Kofod.

While desktop.tsf(TM) centralizes the user's desktop, IT administrators still have premise-based computing devices to contend with, including operating system and application updates and configuration. By deploying Chrome devices, administrators can implement cost-effective, zero premise-based configuration desktop computing.

"Even before our launch, we were receiving requests for thin client support," said David Kinghorn, former Microsoft developer and The Sixth Flag Co-founder & CTO.  "Given our strategic commitment to HTML, we found Google Chrome devices to be a natural fit."

desktop.tsf(TM) for Chrome devices is based on the same award-winning service as desktop.tsf(TM).  The key differences lie in the user interface and management.  "desktop.tsf(TM) customers can implement desktop.tsf(TM) for Chrome devices without any changes to their environment," adds Shane Yocum, VP Business Development at The Sixth Flag.  "The capability will be seamless and introduced as a part of system upgrades."
