Electric Scooter Maker AIMA Announces First Step of Global Strategy by Opening Flagship European Store in Switzerland

ZURICH, Switzerland, Dec. 10, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- On November 20, 2015, Chinese electric scooter company AIMA marked the opening of its first store in Europe by holding a press conference in Zurich, Switzerland, where the store is located. Notable attendees included Ms. Yu Xiaofei, Public Relations Minister for Swiss Chinese Enterprise, Daniel Meyer, Head of Global Corporate Solutions at German multinational engineering and electronics company Bosch, and AIMA senior executives.

In what is to date an unprecedented move for a Chinese electric scooter manufacturer, AIMA's globalized strategy is leading the way for itself and similar companies to expand and go global, proving that products 'Made in China' can indeed be competitive in more developed, international markets.

As a producer of high end electric scooters, AIMA identified Switzerland as the ideal location for its flagship European store due to the country's long-standing reputation for excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail in design. It also ties in with the broader 'One Belt One Road' strategy rolled out by the Chinese government, which aims to create new economic ties between China and Europe, and reinforces the China-Switzerland free-trade agreement signed in 2013.

Commenting on the company's philosophy for internationalization, AIMA CEO Duan Hua said; "In the wake of saturation of the Chinese electric scooter market, we began exploring overseas options. 2015 marks the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and Switzerland; Switzerland represents the best quality in the world, and so therefore was the perfect location for us to begin to build our global brand strategy."

Ms. Duan went on to say that, after the success witnessed with the opening of the Zurich store, AIMA plans to soon open its second location - in Berlin, Germany - followed by new openings in other European countries. Plans for the company's flagship U.S. store are also under way. For more information, please visit http://www.aimatech.com/
