Nucleus is a family-friendly touchscreen device that creates an on-the-spot point of communication for natural audio and video conversations in the home, between homes, or with any mobile device. The company launched in 2014 with the mission to radically improve the traditional home intercom system, both with innovative technology and a simple plug-and-play installation process.

"I created Nucleus because I know life can be hectic. As a father of three, there's tremendous value in having access to my home and family when I can't physically be there," said Jonathan Frankel, co-founder and CEO of Nucleus. "Traditional intercom systems are outdated, expensive, and hard to install - and video chat services like Skype are tricky for some to maneuver. But with Nucleus, my family is there when I need them at the tap of a button. And now with Alexa, there's even more value for parents, like adding groceries to a shopping list or checking on the weather when their hands are tied."

At its core, Nucleus is engineered for secure, instant, and simple communication to help busy families find more time to interact with loved ones. Users have full control of how Nucleus receives incoming calls with options for auto-answer, touch-to-answer, do not disturb, and more.

With Alexa, families can take advantage of a number of voice-enabled features including music from Prime Music, iHeartRadio and TuneIn, access to a myriad of information and an ever growing assortment of Alexa skills. It's as simple as saying, "Alexa, what's the weather" or "Alexa, add milk to my grocery list."

"Integrating Alexa into Nucleus was a natural fit," said Steve Rabuchin, Vice President, Amazon Alexa. "Voice and the Alexa services provide an easy way for families to stay organized, manage their busy lives and have fun. We opened up the AVS to device makers and developers for free and it's exciting to see Nucleus take advantage of the service and bring their innovative technology into homes."

In January 2016, Nucleus was chosen to join the Amazon Launchpad program, an initiative that spotlights cutting-edge products from startups to millions of Amazon customers worldwide. In the same month, Nucleus also announced its national partnership with Lowe's.

"We are committed to offering customers innovative smart home product solutions," said Jeff Raynes, Lowe's Merchandising Director of Smart Home and Security.  "Nucleus provides Lowe's consumers with a seamless solution to instantly communicate with family members and have a deeper relationship with their homes by interacting via voice commands to control other devices, play music or simply check the weather."

Easy set up
Nucleus is designed for the absolute simplest setup and comes with an intuitive, straightforward interface so that users of any age can use it.
