Playdom Fuels MetroGames' Plans for Explosive Growth
Leading Social Games Developer Playdom Invests USD$5 million in Promising Social Gaming Company
SAN FRANCISCO, March 16 -- MetroGames, a promising social gaming company headquartered in Buenos Aires, Argentina, announced today that it has closed a USD$5 million investment from Playdom as part of MetroGames' Series A financing. The investment will be used to expand MetroGames' pipeline of games and continued development of its Metrogames.com social gaming platform.

"We are very confident MetroGames will become one of the world leaders in social gaming during this next wave of explosive growth in the industry. We already have more than 30 games online across Facebook and our own social gaming platform (http://www.metrogames.com) and many more to be released during 2010. In conjunction with this financing, MetroGames has added John Pleasants, Playdom's CEO, to its Board of Directors. Pleasants joins MetroGames' existing board members CEO & founder Damian Harburguer, and COO & founder Julian Lisenberg.
