I used to watch this show every day with my Grandmother, and even though I always thought the acting was HORRIBLE, it kind of holds a special place for me because it was something I shared with her. Now that she's gone I kind of wonder what she would have thought of the last season and this one.
7th Heaven is supposed to be about a pastor and his family of seven children and the challenges of trying to lead a moral life in a confusing world. And that was what it was about. In the beginning.
Ever watch Frasier? Remember how they'd lie about something and then go through all these crazy troubles to keep the others from finding out but get discovered in the end anyway? Well that happens in the Camden house on practically a daily basis.
(Last Season)
Simon is going to college to have sex more than study and even has an STD scare.
Mary takes a 'hiatus' from reality and leaves her husband and baby.
Ruthie, the youngest girl, suddenly goes boy crazy at the age of sixteen. Even from early childhood Ruthie exhibited wisdom beyond her years... I found this sudden flip of character very disturbing.
The Camden family took in Martin, whose father was in Iraq. Shortly after Martin's father returned from his tour Martin (who is seventeen) lost his virginity to a twenty year old girl and got her pregnant. This was WAY out of the blue. Martin always came off a very responsible and upstanding young man... He even refuses to acknowledge the baby until shortly after it is born.
7th Heaven is as trashy as any other teen drama these days and I'm sick and tired of it. After viewing the opening episode of this season I decided to stop watching it altogether.
thats really too bad, i stopped watching a while ago. i always thought that this show would never turn into that. i remember back in the days when my family all got together to watch the show.
