Imagine putting mirrors in space directed at some points at Mars to provide warmth and direct lighting to solar panels. This seems like a good idea for power and heat. We should use this stuff on the moon.

Another idea for 'terraforming' Mars was thought up by Carl Sagan in the late 70s. He mentioned that 'injecting' algae (I can't remember which species specifically) into the upper atmosphere would simply raise the levels of oxygen and greenhouse gases on Mars, rendering it suitable for life as we know it on Earth, i.e., both breathable and warm enough. It's an interesting suggestion, but I haven't heard from it since...
