It is interesting that the GPU is becoming more and more general purpose. I don't think we'll need any physics chip in addition to the video card.

I can't wait to see what dx10 games will be like. GTX power usage seems insane but GTS is good especially considering performance. ATI, show us what you got!

Performance of the new cards is outstanding, but then again so is the price. So I'm going to have to wait a while for the prices to come down a bit.

I honestly don't care, I wouldn't know what to do with any more of these olde fashioned video cards. At this point i'm using them to make pots for plants.

No, in the same vein as the video card thing, I'll just pick up the retail full copies of XP I find on the streets instead of just walking by.

It is fast but I wanna see how it fairs with DX10 as that is what it was primarily designed for.

Yeah when I heard of the specualtion of the new a "DX v9.0L" it was mentioned it was a new version for XP with DX10 capabilities but it was then dropped as it was meant for Vista so no DX10 for XP since DX10 is a completely new code and MS probably wouldn't want to write DX10 for XP anyhow since Vista is on its way and MS would probably rather promote a new OS then an older version of windows.

There are expect revisions of the G80 coming out really soon next year though so everyone can afford a card that isn't $400-500.

I want my video card so big that it'll take up more space than a mainframe did back in the 60's.

Null, why do you want it that big? I can get a mouse that big too, but I'm not sure how well it would function. I am a big supporter of form as well as function, and some video cards on the market are just silly.

These 8800 are really over priced, right now they are going for well over their MSRP online, I'd hate to see what thay are asking for them in a normal retail outlet.

The G80 was meant for DX10 so theres no point on getting one if a user already has a fast card. I am gonna try to wait for the full line to appear next year so Vista and hopefully DX10 will be out.

Are you an ATI fan? I like both companies, but NVIDIA is my favorite, just because they have better mid range cards.

I think that is probably a glitch in the game, because that happened to my copy on the PS2.

I know, but you were saying that you think the glitches on the PC game were because of the video card, but I think it was the game.

I think that there are advantages and disadvantages to both, but like I said, Nvidia has better cards for gamers with low budgets, while ATI has better high end cards, as well as TV tuners.

But, Nvidia has the first DX10 card, so that should say something for the company.

Ever heard of google? It depends where you live as currency is not the same everywhere.

If you live in the US Newegg can give you an idea. In Canada checkout NCIX. One weird tihng is Newegg doesn't have any cards from the 8800 series. Try ZipZoomFly for the 8800GTS and 8800GTX cards lazy.

Also read the subject so please don't trail off topic guys.

Here is a preview how DirectX 10 video games are going to look like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4uIGxHziR80
It looks really good. I believe that we are not going to be using DirectX 10 for a while yet, and there won't be games that use Pixel and Vertex shader 4 for a while.
