YouTube Value? Old Fri Feb 2, 2007 10:39:09 PM #33420 Perm Link
Apparently Google is removing a hell of a lot of copyrighted content from YouTube accounts. Such things as Comedy Central shows and similar. Will YT survive, or will be left with loneygirl15 all our lives?

(mods, if in wrong forum, please correct)

Zero! We had this discussion on here before.

I only go to Youtube to watch shows that I missed on TV.

2014 is going to be a good year. More content, more streamlining. Be a part of history!

Why is that, though? My kids were telling me this just yesterday. They have other places that they go to look instead, now.

Actually YouTube has been requested to remove all copyright material or face court action.

By Viacom only. If Youtube wasn't purchase by Google, they wouldn't have this problem...

Also, notice how Google said it be keeping Youtube separated from Google?

They would be going after Myspace next as there are some music videos there as well. I don't know why Viacom is going after Youtube and besides they barely play those videos on tv anyway.

Viacom think that because YT now has deep pockets, that they can coax a lot from them. It's just like the boston bomb scare. It's not valid.

I figured it was bound to happen anyway. The networks want to be able to regulate the repeats of their shows on their own websites. This way they can force you to watch advertisements and make more money. In the end, YouTube will just be a place for people to put their homemade videos and that's it.

"I knew it. I'm surrounded by a$$holes!"

Well, YouTube is going to have the ability to profit share the adsense/ads revenue with those that have unique content. So, viacom can get a director's account and create their own channel and profit from it then.

Not just Viacom because of their failed attempts to make a joint agreement, but all copyright materials have to be removed.

Hey, anyone heard of livevideo .com yet? I think they have a better platform for sharing videos.
