Well I guess that just sucks for me, bc the "frills" are what I liked about FFX (yes, I'm that shallow). And imo, they still left the story a little open. Many fans wanted to see Yuna get back together with Tidus, as well as have a full on wedding scene (kinda like the FMV in FFX) with them. The fans also wanted to see what their life would be like afterwards. They didn't show that either. Ppl still don't know if he will disappear again or not. But overall, I guess I'm satisfied with the story and the ending. They did what they could.
My beef with the 100% ending is that it left me feeling gipped. Considering how difficult it is to get 100%, they should've either made the 100% ending at least more than a minute, or have it in FMV format. Where's the frills? I guess I'm just spoiled from FFX. I guess I'll just stick to FFX instead then.
I guess the 100% thing seems so difficult to me bc I did it on my first try. So a lot of the game just wasn't enjoyable bc of that (it was mostly just tedious and boring).
One thing though, they were talking about having yet another sequel, FFX-3, which would star Rikku. I heard they decided not to do that, but judging from one scene in the game, you'd think they were still thinking of doing something with FFX-2. They purposely left things open. There's one scene where Rikku complains that she never had her "story." So Yuna tells her she should have her own story, and as she starts to describe how the story would go, the camera mysteriously pans away and there is no audio to be heard. When the camera comes back, Rikku is excited about her new "story" coming up. Anyway, they probably aren't gonna make a FFX-3, but they still could. They left a lot of things out and left a lot of things unanswered.

The reason square made a sequel to ffx isnt really for the fans. Its simple logic why. Its for the MONEY! FFX did very well in profits and Square felt that all those who played ffx would also be willing to buy ffx-2 in which they were hoping to sell the same amount of ffx-2 games as ffx. Of course theres no way it'll equal the same sales but ffx-2 is still doing very well in profit as expected.

Strange...it's true FFX made a big profit...but FFVII made the MOST money for Square out of any game they've ever sold EVER. Yet, it took them a year to release a FFX sequel...and SEVEN YEARS to come out with an FFVII sequel...AND IT'S NOT EVEN A GAME!
Just thought I'd say.

Your logic is flawed. Have you ever researched the amount of time and money it takes to MAKE a game of that caliber?

There is a reason it took Square so long to finally decide to make a side-story to ff7. That reason was because it wasnt all about profits at the time. They just followed every series like usual with a brand new story. The only reason they made ffx-2 was because they had lost millions and milllions of dollars, on what else? None other than the disappointing movie Spirits Within. That movie basically lead to Square's downfall. In fact they lost soo much money off that movie that they really had no choice but to merge with Enix making Square Enix. So ever since that movie came out Square was desperately looking to make profits. FFX-2 and the new FF7 coming out just happen to be one of their ways at trying to make up for their tremendous loss.

...... Which is why Square really released this game for profit, and i've also read that from somewhere when one of the creators were being interviewed. The reporter asked him why they decided to break away from FF tradition and make this game. He said, well it was for the fans, and well *laughs* also really for profit.
