Hubba Hubba Upgrades? Old Mon Oct 13, 2008 7:49:16 PM #76078 Perm Link
Yeah so I've been wanting to get a little into PC games but my PC Isn't exactly the best for games. I would like to start upgrading it just a little. But I don't want to spend over $200.00. Here is whats in my PC now.

Windows Vista Home Premium

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+

2.00 GB of RAM

And a ATI Radeon X1250

As you can see its not the best. So his is where you guys come in. What should I do first?

Graphics Card Upgrade.

Nvidia or ATI.

Your choice. That would be the best thing to do for the system. Seriously. Buy a $200 graphics card and you'll be able to play every single game.

A Radeon 4850 should fall within that price range.

Yeah I've been doing some researching on it. And it looks like it may be the one I'm getting. Everything I have seen about it has been good except something about it running a little hot. But i don't think I'll Be over clocking. So I'm not worried about it.

Thanks for the help.

Try this Video Card comparison page. Pretty cool.

Also, you can get a really GOOD Graphics card for well under 200 bucks. I have Radeon X1950 Pro and it works really well for the games I play.

The ATI X1250 you have now. Is that integrated Video? Also check your motherboard and make sure you have an open PCI-e Slot.
