Overpriced... and now owned by Dell...

2014 is going to be a good year. More content, more streamlining. Be a part of history!

I own an Alienware. I'm about to own a Clevo.

From the reviews I've read and the prices I've seen, I'll probably like the Clevo better.

I like Alienware, and they don't do some of the more annoying Dell practices. However, Clevo computers usually cost less for more.

Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today?
Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection.
Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!

The keyboard effects and the Alienware symbol that glows are fine for me to give up. I want to get the best performance for the best price. The flashy stuff can check itself at the door because I don't want to shell out money just so my keys light up in the dark.

I've heard things about the Area-51 m15x laptops being extremely shotty. Apparently their hinges are made to be broken, their casing is prone to cracking, there is a strong bleed out of lights through the case which means that the plastic might be thin and cheap.

The only thing that you seem to be sacrificing is the "Smart Bay" and that does the same job as an external hard drive, right? Except with the external hard drive you can use with with more than one computer?

From what I've read and seen, Clevo is the way to go. Besides, I think it's much cooler to have an innocuous looking laptop that has amazing desktop features than a laptop with a giant glowing alien that says "STEAL ME!" on it. But then again, ever since owning an Alienware laptop I have been disenchanted with their reliability, customer service, price, etc. etc. etc.

Alienware is a brand of gaming computers (laptops and desktops) designed for people who don't like, care or want to build their own. The brand is owned by Dell and competes with Falcon Northwest (on the upper end), VoodooPC, Clevo and (oddly enough) Dell's XPS line.

1: Intel Sucks.
2: I belive you mean Disk Space, No computer thus far has a 7000 GB Memory capacity, As Per NewEgg, The highest ammount of Memory per Stick is 4Gigs, Most systems have two slots, so thats 8 Gigs of ram. But if you have four slots, thats 16GB. No Way is there 7000 Gigs of memory in that sysetem.
3: Tornado, Good Explanation.

When AMD gets off their asses and pulls out another step forward along the lines of the Athlon 64, I'll agree. As it stands, though? Intel is the way to go.

You can have 7GB of Ram. It would be a silly idea (a 4GB stick, a 2 GB stick and a GB stick), but it is possible.

You cannot have 7 TB of memory. Even big monster mainframes used by scientists have a theoretical maximum of 128GB.
You can have 7 TB of hard drive space, but that is not memory.

and unless you are running a 64bit Operating System, anything over 3.2GB of RAM will not be utilized or recognized by the OS.

Not to change the subject. The reason you might like Vista is because you like MAC> Windows copied so much eye candy from MAC into Vista that it isn't even funny.
