Kingdom Hearts 2...

Was released today! Llama reserved a copy for my birthday (which is tomorrow). I'm so excited!

I wasn't so fond of the new theme in the commerial ad, but hearing the whole thing changed my mind.
The opening is just... lovely.

The video sumarizes much of what happened in KH and KH:CoM.

The game begins with Roxas (aka DualWieldingUnknown or BlondeHairedKid) in Twilight Town. You select your mode and skills in much the same way you did with Sora did in his 'Dive into the Heart'.

Twilight Town features several more Final Fantasy personas. The all three members of the Disciplinary Committee (FFVIII) appear in their young teens, Vivi appears in the Struggle Tourney, and Wantz (FFX) runs the item shop.
Auron, Tifa, and YRP also make appearances (though the latter are non-playable).

Because I regretted not going with Expert later on Kingdom Hearts I decided to begin this game on Expert (called Proud Mode) and I've been doing well so far. I may come to rue this in the future, however.

I just saw a commercial of Kingdom hearts 2. It has a Tron level. Instant classic!

yeah and during the level (if you've played the game you should know) the character (i forgot his name) changes clothes with the theme. in the last game when you were with the nightmare before christmas you became a dark looking character. As well as your allies (donald and pluto)

Also i hear that Sepiroth and Cloud play a mighty big roll in this game. SOUNDS SMASHING

The characters are all so well defined and the dynamism between them is just killer.



Spoiler: I just finished a battle in Hollow Bastion that featured Cloud, Tifa, Aerith, Sephiroth, Yuffie, Leon, Yuna, Rikku, Paine, Stitch, and King Mickey vs. the Heartless and the Nobodies.

Holy crap was it awesome.

Turns out that Ansem of Kingdom Hearts was not really Ansem but an impersonator named Xehanort. Xehanort was a dear friend and disciple of King Ansem. Looks like Xehanort's brain was a little scrambled after the first experiments performed by the real Ansem before King Mickey arrived and brought them to a stop. Even after King Ansem forbade further testing Xehanort and five other apprentices continued them in secrecy. It is the Nobodies of Xehanort and those five others that come to form the first ranks of Orginization XIII (chief antagonists, second only to the Heartless). The birth of a Nobody is an anomoly that takes place when a strong person... like Kairi or Sora... becomes Heartless.

I guess the game was good.

I can't find all the bleedin orichalcum+ to make the ultimate keyblade! It's pissing me off! I've found all the treasure in the game gained all the moogle levels and goals and still only have 7 of the 13. I think it might be in the Hades Paradox cup. Which would suck. Because it requires level 99 to even enter it.

G.I., X Play, and Judgement Day were all raving about just how bitching KH2's camera is compared to first. I have personally found it troublesome. Mostly cause my L2 button sticks...

To acquire skills such as high jump, dash, and glide you must level up your Drive Modes. This gets extremely tiresome, because each Drive Mode has its own leveling system. Wisdom Form can only gain exp versus Heartless, Master can only gain exp by picking up Drive balls, and Final form will only gain exp versus Nobodies. Not to mention the fact that you can only maintain a Drive Form as long as your Drive Gauge holds out... and sometimes it can take forever to regenerate.

But the main reason I'm so annoyed with the stupid Drive Forms is because after all the leveling up you go through... you can't use them in the duel versus Sephiroth or in the final confrontation with Xehanort. Sure, you can still equip your dash and glide (provided you actually took the time to level the forms up). But overall the Drives just seem like a grand waste of time.

It is seeming more and more like I'll be getting Fenrir before Ultima. I had intended to synthesize Ultima before I challenged Sephiroth but it looks like that ain't gonna happen any time soon with this little Orichalcum+ shortage we're having...

Okay so I figured out how to get the friggin ultimate keyblade. There are only seven orichalcum+ in the entire game. In order to make the ultimate keyblade you must have level 9 moogle (Max level), and have an energy crystal which halves the items required to make S class items.

Good thing I didn't figure this out before I beat Sephiroth, because all hell would have frozen over if any thing was ever easy for me. I beat Sephiroth just be skrewing around. I only hit him when I was sure that he wouldn't hit me back untill I had 3 of his bars down, then I went crazy with Trinity Limit and ethers. Worked out pretty well wouldn't yeh say?

So how BIG of a roll does the FF Characters play in the storyline of KH:2?

It looks like they play a big role.

Ok i just finished the part in Hallow Bastion were you kill 1000 heartles and i im currently on the priates of the carrabians again (chap 2) because the pathways to aladins place and the other one( i forget) dissapeared ... idk why

The Final Fantasy characters only play parts in places such as Twilight Town, Hollow Bastion, and Radiant Garden.

But their interactions are far more interesting.

The Disney worlds were wa-a-a-y boring. In Kingdom Hearts they integrated the worlds beautifully but in Kingdom Hearts II there is no mystery at all to the Disney worlds. Everything goes by the book.

I beat Sephiroth. Fenrir looks ridiculous. It looks like a fucking chainsaw.
