MBM Update

Poster: Warlock
Posted on November 26, 2001 at 1:59:00 AM
MBM has a few fixes in this relatively minor update-I have released 5.1.0.2, it has a few changes:- I went for a new encryption algorithm for the 3 passwords you can store in MBM, this means you will need to re-enter them, the installer will remind you of this- Am very proud to announce support for the NForce MCP / MCP-D smbus and the AMD 768 smbus- You have now the option to enter the SMTP port, for those of us who need another then the default 25- And as some users requests you can now make the size of the meters on the dashboard smaller, this works okay on the VU and the tekst meters but might give odd results on the digital meter if you make it to smallAlexLinkage-MBM

Mobile P4s near Feb 2002

Poster: Aron Schatz
Posted on November 20, 2001 at 3:38:00 PM
This is taken from X-bit Labs...
As we learned, the first Pentium 4 processors for the mobile PCs should be launched in February 2002. In this respect, we thought that these CPUs would be showcased at COMDEX Fall/2001, but we were mistaken. They only had a single Mobile Pentium 4 prototype working at 1.6GHz on the mobile i845 based platform supporting PC2100 DDR SDRAM. Thank goodness they had at least a prototype over there...At the same time, Intel confirmed their desire to launch these CPUs within Q1’02. they are expected to work at 1.4GHz-1.7GHz core clock frequencies, which corresponds to what we have already told you before.
