Question about 939dual-sata2 mobo & using 2 video cards Old Wed Jan 18, 2006 2:41:37 PM #14574 Perm Link
I have an ATI AIW 9700 in the AGP, Nvidia 7800GT in the PCI-e. Windows can find both of them, install drivers for both of them, et cetera. The problem is this: When I attempt to use the tv tuner, the app i'm using crashes, and no video appears on screen either. Here's my install order: AGP drivers, ATI catalyst install by running the catalyst install program (at this point tv capture works but i can't use a monitor attached to the 7800gt), then use windows auto-install to install the det. drivers for 7800gt. Now, the problem occurs when I reboot. After I reboot, nvidia's nview thing auto starts, and I can use my 7800gt to play games, etc. BUT the video capture will not work in that I don't see any video and the program I'm using crashes.

Also, this is all with AGP set to default in the BIOS, when I set PCI-e to default in BIOS then the video capture device for the AIW card isn't seen by windows at all.

Er, so, I was wondering if anyone knows if hacked drivers or something would help out the situation, and why is it that the drivers can't play well with one another anyways?

You could try the Omega drivers for both brands of cards... http://www.omegadrivers.net/

Yeah, same problems. Maybe someone will make some custom drivers like how someone made custom drivers to make x-fire work with my board. In the mean time, I sold it on [H]ardocp and i'm buying a tuner on amazon.com

Tuner is in there and working great. In the end a better idea anyways, since it uses less CPU and has better reception than my old 9700 AIW.
