Which processor is the best right now, and pending future releases of processors, which will come out on top for the long run?

I would have to say "The uBeR-Dodium" from Microsoft, but then again, the "The 1337omgrofl!!!1" (also from Microsoft) seems to be becoming more and more popular.

This is a loaded question. For future safety, the Athlon 64 is the way to go.

For current performace, a normal Athlon or Pentium 4 is fine.

Yeah, I have an Athlon and it works very well. Though a lot of people swear by Pentium 4. Either is fine, just don't get a Celeron, those bite penises.

So lets say i'm looking for long term high performance... It seems Athlon just has Pentium beat.

Oh, well that's good. I have an Athlon, but I haven't heard as many good things about it, but that doesn't really matter, because it works very well...it only bites my penis sometimes.
