How do ya like this?

I haven't updated in a while, so I've greatly improved since the last one (especially in shading, my weakness).
Tell me how like it, and if you want some art, it's cheap, even if its your own original idea...

I really like your drawings. The "postcard punks are adorable" one is my favorite. That one is done quite well.
And keep working on shading if you don't think it's your strongest...it's not too hard...start with the outlines, and then don't press as hard...press a little less and a little less...like a gradient...practice shading on cubes. It's boring, but it helps. Check out my work, it's under the "there's an art forum" thread.

Thanks! I think it kind of has a lot to do with the type of pencils I use too. I tend to use mechanical pencils because they stay sharp and I can get into better detailing. I just need to switch up I guess!

Thanks! I will definitely take some time out to work on it, I want to get the best of it I can. I still have yet to find my art niche too. I like experimenting. I do very well with collages and Dali-esque paintings, but I'm pretty bad at painting in general!

Practice makes perfect! And perfection is sometimes overrated! So just work on your craft and keep trying to improve. I think an artist goes through many facets, so to find a niche might be a whole life quest!

Nobody's perfect...otherwise we'd be all the same...and we wouldn't enjoy things like art and music.

your shading is not at all bad. i too use lead pencils but i do fine with shading (thats the only thing im good at XD) with them.

I'm going to be posting some new stuff very soon. I showed this guy I've been seeing and he was pretty impressed by it. They had a slight Vargas touch. So maybe I have improved on shading in the last year!!!

I think you probably need to get your own site with your own message board and host your art...that way you'll have a safe place to say what you want and no one will kick you or ban you ;P

I think he meant the server at his work has blocked DA so he cannot view it, not that he was actually banned from DA. Not that it's all that hard to get banned from DA

Oh ok I get it, I kinda read it wrong. I wonder how you'd get banned...other than the obvious in your face porn or something...maybe if you post way too many pictures of the same anime that everyone else is drawing or whatever that furry crap is that seems to be all the rage on the nets. Ew.

It's actually pretty easy to get banned (although you're more likely to get a suspension than an all-out ban), usually if you argue AKA flame (because all the emokids on DA considering disagreement flaming) or critique the wrong people. No room for improvement there.

That won't get you banned, although some mods on DA very loudly object to Anime and Anthro and I wouldn't be surprised if they did ban you for drawing them. It bothers me little that people draw anthro and anime (perhaps because I'm arguably an anthro artist? I've always considered myself a cartoonist, though XD), let people do their thing and hell, it'll keep that many people away from the actual art market, which is pretty impacted as is, eh?

I've never heard of "anthro." What's that all about? Sounds like something with bugs...but I'm pretty sure I'm wrong...

Ah, pardon XD I've been in the culture so long I forget it's not widespread. Anthro is short for "Anthropomorphic Animal", which would just be an animal with human traits (most typically walking upright and speaking). Anthro is a more formal name for Furry. Furry typically refers to a person or the culture as a whole, whereas Anthro generally refers to art/writing. Also, using Anthro doesn't exclude those who draw anthropomorphic reptiles, birds, fish etc... that wouldn't be considered furry.
So it could have something to do with bugs, if you drew an anthropomorphic insect.

I think the problem the mods on DA have with anthro art is 99.99999999999% of the anthro "art" on DA is crappy sonic fanart that looks like it was done by an elemtary school kid.

No, the problem they have with it is that Anthro and Anime art attract the serial favorite-ers who go about and favorite EVERYTHING posted in that category. Also, a lot of the mods are photographers who like picture of eyeballs and naked woman and they're jealous they don't get that much attention.

The whole system is fucked up, top to bottom. I don't get the merits of pageviews, I don't think they count for how good or even how popular you are, they just count how many times you can con someone into coming to your page.
