iMusicTech's Innovative 3D Surround Sound System Product "iMusic Combo" Sparkles at International Consumer Electronic Show 2015
Attracting Eyes and Ears of Leading Audio and Computer Brands
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 8, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Leading audio and video hardware and software expert, iMusicTech Ltd. ("iMusicTech"), has unveiled a revolutionary 3D Surround Sound System ("3DS3") portable audio system product, iMusic Combo, at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, running from 6-9 January.
Mr. Kenneth Chau, CEO of iMusicTech, said, "iMusicTech was founded by a group of experts in IT, music and electronics industry and is dedicated to music-related products. Today, we are excited and proud to achieve another milestone with the debut of iMusic Combo embedded with the revolutionary 3DS3 technology, offering a sensational sound experience to music lovers."
"We are excited that many leading and reputable computer brands have shown interest in our 3DS3 product during the show. Indeed, apart from audio brands, computer brands also put increasing emphasis on the sound quality of their products, a rapidly emerging trend in the near future," added Mr. Chau.
iMusic Combo is a portable audio system embedded with 3DS3 technology, exceptional for restoring the sound source and reproducing it with the same fidelity of the recording process. Similar to those expensive home-theatre systems such as 5.1, 7.1 or 9.2 surround sound system in sound performance, iMusic Combo offers an impressive surround sound experience at a friendly price and with less space. It is a dynamic combination of a headphone amplifier, a PC USB sound card, and a pre-amplifier for any audio system. Despite its small size, it can operate up to six hours continuously after being fully charged.
3DS3 is a revolutionary sound processing technology developed by iMusicTech. The origin of 3DS3 is based on military sonar system technology. Submarines emit sound waves to disrupt the detection by sonar by confusion of the type of sound sources and their position. To tackle this problem, an extensive database of sound sources and formulas for calculation is created in order to locate the submarine precisely. After a couple of decades, iMusicTech has successfully applied this technology to music processing.
The International CES is an annual renowned international electronics and technology trade show held at the Las Vegas Convention Centre. As the world's gathering place for all who thrive on the business of consumer technologies, CES 2015 has attracted a record-breaking participation with more than 3,600 exhibitors.

Haier Presents the World's First "No-Compressor Wine Cabinet" at 2015 CES
LAS VEGAS, Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Haier's no-compressor wine cabinet has become the brightest star at the 2015 International CES (International Consumer Electronics Show) in Las Vegas. Solid-state refrigerating wine cabinet, magnetic refrigerating wine cabinet and smart Wine-cool are three types of no-compressor wine cabinets on display. The three wine cabinets have overturned the traditional design concept that has been the basis of compressor refrigerating technology since the emergence of electrical refrigerating appliances.
Red wine is very picky about its storage environment; subtle vibrations or temperature changes can affect the taste. On Haier's open interactive platform, the world's top-level red wine aficionados said most wine cabinets vibrate excessively when operating, compromising the quality of the red wine stored within. Red wine enthusiasts have advocated on Twitter, Facebook and other social media channels for non-vibrating no-noise wine cabinets.
Demand for storage space akin to red wine cellars has found first-rate resources on Haier's open interactive platform. As a case in point, a Silicon Valley partner communicated with end-users on Haier's interactive platform and offered them a solution using CO(2) and H(2)O as a refrigerant to replace traditional compressors. A field test confirmed there is no vibration at all when the cabinet is running.
The wine cabinet has not a single moving part, delivering a perfect no-vibration no-noise storage environment for red wine and satisfying demand for a "wine-cellar experience." Haier is also exhibiting the world's first magnetic-refrigerating wine cabinet, an energy-saving, environmentally-friendly and quiet storage device. It can drop the temperature by as much as 50 degrees Celsius (122 degrees Fahrenheit) in a short time. With its small size and innovative refrigerating method, "the smallest cabinet of all time" Wine-Cool has attracted much attention from show visitors. The Wine-Cool is small enough for red wine lovers to take their favorite libation with them even on the move.
The Haier executive manning the booth at the show explained that the "no compressor" design concept will be applied to other refrigerating appliances, signaling that the day is near when noisy household appliances will become a thing of the past. According to the latest data, with a market share of 18%, the Haier wine cabinet, for the fifth time that the data has been released, has proven to be the most popular brand in world markets.

Load switches are used in a wide variety of applications to selectively shut down idle subsystems or board sections in power-saving modes. This minimizes equipment power consumption wherein reactivation of those subsystems requires a controlled switch turn-on to avoid perturbation on power rails," statedBrian Hedayati, vice president of marketing for high performance linear and power solutions at Micrel. "To address this issue, Micrel has deployed its patented MOSFET technology with advanced packaging technology, and now offers one of the industry's smallest 7A load switches on the market, reducing more than 40 percent of required board space."
This device operates from a 2.7V to 9V bus rail and can switch on a load voltage from 0.5V to 5.5V. The extremely low 6.6mOHM ON resistance of the integrated FET minimizes power dissipation and reduces voltage drop across the switch thereby allowing for greater voltage accuracy to the circuit downstream, especially critical in low voltage applications. Other features include a control input for sequencing and an optional capacitor that allows the user to adjust the output slew rate. TheMIC95410 <http://www.micrel.com/products/power-management-ics/power-switching/single-high-side-power-switches/article/40-mic95410.html> is fully specified from -40-degC to +125-degC.

SKULLY Systems Selects Telenav's Mobile SDK to Power Navigation System for its AR-1 Helmet
Telenav's OpenStreetMap-powered SDK will serve as the navigation backbone for the high-tech augmented reality motorcycle helmet
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Telenav®, Inc. (Nasdaq: TNAV), the leader in location-based services, today announced that SKULLY Systems has selected Telenav's Scout SDK to deliver navigation features in their highly anticipated SKULLY AR-1 helmet. SKULLY Systems, makers of the world's first augmented reality motorcycle helmet, will leverage Telenav's Scout SDK to provide the software foundations that will enable real-time, turn-by-turn navigation for the AR-1's heads-up display.
Launched in May 2014, Telenav's Scout SDK is the first commercial-grade platform for mobile developers worldwide that is based on OpenStreetMap (OSM) - a crowd-sourced map of the world that provides more details and updates than Google Maps - or any other commercially available licensed maps. Telenav's Scout SDK is also the first widely-available navigation SDK to offer hybrid (online and offline) navigation using OSM.
Developing a safe and easily accessible motorcycle navigation solution presents unique engineering challenges that traditional navigation systems are ill-equipped to address. Because Telenav's Scout SDK is highly customizable - and can work in any driving scenario - SKULLY can utilize the routing prompts and deliver a tailored solution that fits within the display of a small window inside the AR-1 helmet.
"We are creating new safety technologies for motorcycling with the SKULLY AR-1. It provides drivers with a navigation experience designed specifically with the motorcyclist in mind," said Marcus Weller, Ph.D., Founder and CEO of SKULLY. "We needed a flexible and highly robust platform for navigation, and Telenav's SDK met our rigorous criteria. We are able to create truly awesome features that motorcyclists have never had before."
"SKULLY Systems is quickly being recognized for the incredible innovation it is bringing to motorcycle technology, and we are proud that they have chosen Telenav's Scout SDK to power the navigation experience for their customers," said Rohan Chandran, president and general manager of Telenav's mobile division. "SKULLY Systems, as with other members of Telenav's Scout for Developers program, have found the Scout SDK to be a flexible and invaluable tool for creating applications that offer easy integration, coupled with the latest mapping data that consistently tracks an endlessly evolving road infrastructure. We look forward to collaborating with SKULLY Systems to provide motorcycle drivers with an unprecedented driving experience."
SKULLY Systems joins companies including Inrix, Strava, TripAdvisor and Triposo in Telenav's Scout for Developers program. The SKULLY AR-1 helmet is slated for availability in spring 2015.

Bridgeworks enables Spectra Logic to reach further and faster with high speed iSCSI connectivity and remote storage solutions
CHRISTCHURCH, England and BOULDER, Colorado, January 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
Bridgeworks, innovator and provider of the world's fastest data movement solutions,
announced with Spectra Logic, the deep storage experts, a full certification for the
Oresund high performance iSCSI protocol gateways and WANrockIT, the WAN Optimisation and
Acceleration solution across the full range of Spectra's T-Series Tape Libraries
[http://www.spectralogic.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=products.displayProductSummaries&catID5&src=fly ]
.
The adoption of 10Gb and 40Gb Ethernet infrastructures within the virtualized
computing environment has created a challenge connecting to peripherals. Whilst many of
the new peripherals have adopted 10Gb and 40Gb iSCSI connectivity, the high-speed tape
devices such as LTO-5 and LTO-6 drives are only available with the Fibre Channel protocol.
With the Oresund 10Gb and 40Gb iSCSI to Fibre Channel gateways it is now a simple action
to transparently connect Spectra's high performance tape libraries to the iSCSI SAN.
Many organizations still employ a courier service with off-site tape storage for data
back-up, which is not practical in this day of exponential data growth. WANrockIT has
proven ability to transport data over TCP/IP without the performance penalty that is
normally associated with a WAN, expanding Spectra's solutions portfolio with remote
vaulting for Disaster Recovery and Archiving.
Combining WANrockIT's patented Optimization and Acceleration technology with Spectra's
tape library portfolio represents a paradigm shift for Disaster Recovery solutions where
distance is no longer an inhibiting factor. WANrockIT automates and accelerates data
movement over distance with efficiency and consistency, exceeding 95 percent bandwidth
utilization and bringing performance back whether 20 miles or 2000 miles apart.
"Our customers look to us for new and innovative solutions that provide cost savings,
added flexibility and greater security to their data protection platforms. Bridgeworks
provides the ability to connect to high performance iSCSI SANS and the benefit of
geographic independence," says Matt Starr, the Chief Technology Officer at Spectra Logic.
"With the ability to transfer data over long distances at speeds of up to 15TB/hour,
WANrockIT allows our customers to think differently about their Data Dispersal strategy
through TCP/IP and are no longer restrained by physical distance."

Micrel's Small Load Switch Delivers 7A Continuous Current In 1.2mm x 2mm Package
SAN JOSE, Calif., Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Micrel, Inc. (Nasdaq:MCRL), an industry leader in high performance linear and power solutions, LAN and timing and communications solutions, today introduced the MIC95410 7A load switch in a compact 1.2mm x 2.0mm package. This device can be used for systems requiring power partitioning and has the capability of a controlled power up sequence with ramp control, a feature often needed in applications such as industrial computing, server boards, medical devices, tablets, notebooks, and solid state drives. The MIC95410 is available in volume quantity with 1,000 quantities pricing starting at $0.45. Samples can be ordered on line at: http://www.samplecomponents.com/scripts/samplecenter.dll?micrel.
Load switches are used in a wide variety of applications to selectively shut down idle subsystems or board sections in power-saving modes. This minimizes equipment power consumption wherein reactivation of those subsystems requires a controlled switch turn-on to avoid perturbation on power rails," stated Brian Hedayati, vice president of marketing for high performance linear and power solutions at Micrel.
The MIC95410 is fully specified from -40-degC to +125-degC.

Telenav Selected to Power Navigation Experience for Ford SYNC® 3
Ford SYNC® 3 users will enjoy an enhanced driving and navigation experience through new features such as Onebox search, and multi-touch mapping
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Telenav, Inc. (Nasdaq:TNAV), the leader in location-based services, announced today that it will power the navigation experience of the recently revealed Ford SYNC® 3 infotainment system. Telenav, a long-time supplier of Ford, will provide SYNC® 3 users with an enhanced driving and navigation experience, including simplified search functionality, multi-touch map technology, and more.
"We are proud to continue our partnership with Ford to deliver a simpler, intuitive and more powerful navigation experience for the SYNC® 3 system," said Sal Dhanani, President of the Automotive Business unit and Co-Founder of Telenav. "We are confident that users will enjoy the new experience powered by Telenav Onebox search, multi-touch mapping, and a modern map color palette."
SYNC® 3 users will gain access to a variety of new navigation and infotainment features made possible through Telenav's technologies. Key features include:
-- Onebox Search: SYNC® 3 users will no longer be required to enter
location details into multiple fields, such as street number, street
name, city and state. With the new Onebox search, drivers can simply
enter addresses into a simplified search box, which also provides
auto-complete and suggestion functionality for faster searches.
-- Multi-Touch Maps: Transitioning from buttons to touch technology, users
can now access map data by using zoom, pan, pinch and swipe motions,
mimicking the familiar mobile interfaces that users are comfortable
with.
-- 3D City Models: With the updated user interface, SYNC® 3 users will be
able to view 3D city models of buildings and major landmarks, creating
an improved user experience ideal for travel.
In addition to the above new features, users will enjoy a simplified point of interest (POI) discovery experience, pulling this information together under common categories, instead of crowding the map in a given area with irrelevant search items. SYNC®3 users will also be able to update their software via Wi-Fi. And thanks to its modern design, drivers will have new Ford/Lincoln color schemes to further enhance their navigation experience.
A number of Telenav-powered features popular in previous versions of the SYNC® systems will continue to be available to drivers with SYNC® 3. Users will continue to have the ability to search using enhanced voice activated destination entry and determine the best route for their trips, based on factors such as traffic, and the most energy efficient route.

Breakthrough: Ricoh more than triples depth of field in industrial cameras
In many cases, one RICOH Extended Depth of Field Camera can capture multiple subjects at different heights and depth in a single shot
MALVERN, Pa., Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ricoh Americas Corporation today unveiled a breakthrough in machine vision with new digital video cameras that provide up to five times[1] the depth of field of traditional industrial cameras while maintaining brightness.
That means a single RICOH Extended Depth of Field Camera (EDoF) can capture images it typically would take multiple cameras to achieve - subjects in the foreground and background stay in focus without constant movement, refocusing, or shooting multiple images from different heights and depths. Ricoh has extended depth of field by using a specialized lens and a specialized camera with a built-in image processor and a new algorithm.
The innovative RICOH EDoF camera can clearly detect varying subjects in sharp focus - from tiny text to entire assemblies - as products of different sizes and heights glide by on an assembly line at varying distances from the camera. And with the RICOH EDoF camera, the depth of field is extended while maintaining image brightness. With a typical camera, extending depth of field often makes the image darker.
The RICOH EDoF camera is ideal for bottlers, printed circuit board makers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, shippers - any company that needs to inspect product and automatically alert managers to aberrations. The cameras are also ideal in certain low-light situations, such as gem inspections where glare can be a problem. The open aperture required for a dim room would constrict depth of field in a traditional camera.
"With this camera, you'll rarely need to adjust the focus of your industrial camera," said Matt Sakauchi, Vice President, Product Marketing, Ricoh Americas Corporation. "Just about everyone has assumed that depth of field - the range of in-focus distance in front of a lens - is as inviolable as the law of gravity. But our R&D teams discovered that, astonishingly, depth of field can actually be multiplied. Customers can save money, configuration time and the cost of complexity."
MSRP for the VGA monochrome RICOH Extended Depth of Field Camera (EV-G030B1) is $3,707.50; the 2M monochrome model (EV-G200B1) is $4,427.50; and the 2M color model (EV-G200C1) is $4,535.50. Frame rate ranges from 15 to 90 frames per second, and aperture from f/1.7 to f/8.6, depending on the model. The cameras are available with a choice of wide angle (8 mm), standard (12 mm) and telephoto (35 mm) lenses sold separately.

Fuse® Second Generation Full Spectrum Endoscopy® System Released by EndoChoice®
Company Becomes First to Offer 4K Monitors As Components of a Flexible Endoscopy Platform
ATLANTA, Jan. 7, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- EndoChoice(®) today announced it has fulfilled customer orders for the newly released second generation Fuse system. The features and functions incorporated in the new design include 4K Ultra HD monitors, advancements in the FuseBox®, and the StrataFlex(TM) technology.
Capitalizing on recent advancements in video technology, 4K Ultra HD monitors provide a sharper, clearer image boosted by almost 8 million pixels. Now the three cameras in the Fuse colonoscope can be projected on one, wide-screen, 4K monitor and customers can choose from a variety of sizes up to 65".
The FuseBox now includes software and hardware changes to simplify use for doctors, nurses and technicians while Strataflex represents new performance enhancing technology to improve the handling of the endoscope during procedures. The company proceeded with the release of the second generation system after very positive feedback from clinicians participating in early market tests and the recent successful launch of the world's only slim colonoscope incorporating three cameras.
"The new Fuse system enables us to have a wider view of the anatomy, and the changes from the first generation are significant to my practice," said Asher Kornbluth, MD Clinical Professor at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. "I find the wider view is particularly important in performing surveillance in patients who present with dysplastic lesions that are nearly flat and often hard to detect."
Fuse colonoscopes and gastroscopes are unique compared to all other endoscopy systems used by doctors to examine the gastrointestinal tract as they have multiple cameras to provide a 330 degree panoramic field of view during colonoscopy and a 245 degree field of view during upper endoscopy.
"The Fuse platform enables doctors to see more anatomy so they can find more lesions," said Mark Gilreath, Founder and CEO at EndoChoice. "Now the performance is even better. The second generation Fuse technology is an impressive R&D achievement, providing the GI caregiver the world's most advanced endoscopy system."
